Marking five years of presence in Lemnos’s cultural scene, the Kournos Music Festival launches one of its most significant initiatives for summer 2025: the visual installation Metamorphoses as a Toy by Euripides Laskaridis, one of the most daring and internationally acclaimed creators on the European stage.

The exhibition features self-portraits, videos, stage props, and a costume-sculpture, the result of Laskaridis and his team’s creative work over the past decade — with many pieces presented in Greece for the first time.

The installation cleverly engages with the “Permanent Exhibition of the History of Children’s Toys and Books” in Myrina, Lemnos — a lifelong vision of Lemnian archaeologist and writer Christos Boulotis, who donated his valuable collection to the museum. Through subtle interventions among the exhibits, as well as a comprehensive, immersive installation in the nearby Museum of School Life, the exhibition highlights the playful, physical, and creative process of transformation, exploring shifting identities, roles, and forms.

*A longtime partner of the Kournos Music Festival, Kosmos 93.6 brings its own sonic imprint to Laskaridis’s Metamorphoses as a Toy this year. Through a specially curated Playlist to Remember , the radio station draws inspiration from the dreamy and whimsically uncanny universe of the exhibition, translating it into a unique musical experience.
